The Sullivan for State Rep Campaign is open and willing to listen to any ideas on how to improve upon current legislation, and ideas for new legislation and/or policies - that any of my constituents might have. We want to hear from you. Which is why, if elected - the first thing the campaign will do? Will be to put together processes for constituency services so that the people are finally heard and it is reflected within our laws/bylaws/policies moving forward. An Act to ensure safe drinking water for state funding eligibility in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Bill H949 PURPOSE: The purpose of this act is to ensure that municipalities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts meet state-defined standards for safe drinking water in order to qualify for state funding or grants, thereby protecting public health and encouraging local governments to prioritize water quality. SECTION 2. Definitions For the purposes of this act, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned below: (a) Safe Drinking Water: Water that meets or exceeds the standards established by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) in accordance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act (42 U.S.C. § 300f et seq.). An Act to restore the rights of adulthood to all persons achieving the age of adulthood: Bill HD.4390 | PURPOSE: This act seeks to restore all rights and privileges to adults aged 18 through 20. Our government asks for and demands much from adults. Federal law recognizes 18 years of age as the age of maturation. Upon reaching the age of maturity, 18 year old citizens are granted all rights of adulthood. However, Massachusetts has declared that adulthood is in stages. This bill restores the rights of adulthood upon all persons aged 18 and older. Lower the age of handgun and semiautomatic firearm ownership to 18. SECTION 1.a. An Act lowering the legal gambling age to 18 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Bill HD.4388 PURPOSE: The purpose of this act is to align the legal gambling age with the age of adulthood, granting individuals 18 years of age the same rights and responsibilities as other legal adults in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, this act aims to increase state revenue by keeping gambling-related spending within Massachusetts, preventing the loss of economic activity to neighboring states such as New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, where individuals under 21 can legally gamble.
